Ken Holmstrom is a graduate of the University of Alberta - Faculty of Law. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1983 and the British Columbia Bar in 1992. He articled with Chomicki Baril Mah in 1982, became an associate in 1983 and became a partner in the firm in 1985.
Preferred Areas of Practice
- Ken has extensive expertise in all areas of Insurance Defence Litigation with a particular emphasis on Commercial and General Liability, Property and Casualty, Coverage and Policy Interpretation, Institutional Liability, Professional Liability, Errors and Omissions and D&O Claims. Ken has appeared at all levels of the Alberta Courts, and he represents a number of Alberta Insurers in matters being litigated in British Columbia. He has considerable experience in all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution and has also been retained to act as a Mediator.
Background
- Ken has been a guest speaker at the Insurance Adjusters of Northern Alberta Past President's Ball on more than one occasion. He has presented seminars to the Insurance Institute of Northern Alberta, numerous insurers on a variety of topics, the National Insurance industry in Toronto and the regional industry in Edmonton and Calgary on behalf of Risk Management Counsel of Canada. He has had an article on "The Use of the Polygraph in Combating Fraud" published in the Ontario Adjuster's Magazine.

- Ken is married to Patti and has three children. Ken coaches hockey and is one of the youth group leaders at an Anglican Church
